WNADA LNYW (Live Near Your Work) Initiative

How to Apply

Applying for the WNADA LNYW grant is one of the final steps in the homebuying process. After you complete your homebuying course and counseling, have an accepted offer, and enter into a sales contract for a property in the 21216 or 21217 ZIP code, you are ready to apply.

  1. Create an account with ROOTED to begin your application (link below). 
    • The application process takes about 30 minutes to complete. 
    • Be sure to select WNADA LNYW
  2. Fill out all required fields and upload the following required documents:
    • Homebuying Course & Counseling Certificate (must be signed and dated by agency) 
    • Ratified Sales Contract (must be signed by seller & buyer) 
    • Preapproval Letter
    • Evidence of $1,000 contribution to your purchase
  3. Submit application
    • Once your application is submitted, it will be reviewed by our office.
    • Your lender will receive a link to upload the remaining required information
  4. Receive approval email from Druid Heights CDC.
    • After your eligibility is approved, you will receive an email from our office with your next steps. 
  5. Send conditional loan documents. 
    • You or your lender must provide a copy of your conditional loan commitment in the ROOTED Portal.
  6. Druid Heights CDC Approval 
    • Once we have received your conditional loan commitment, we will process your grant payment. 
    • The grant check takes 10-15 business days from the date on the approval letter to arrive in the office; once received, Druid Heights will contact your lender/title company to schedule a check pickup. 
  7. Provide proof of settlement.
    • After you have settled, send a copy of your signed final closing disclosures document. 
    • Proof of settlement must be received within 60 days of your grant payment.
