Design Overview: We are looking for banner designs that will reflect the culturally-rich history of the Druid Heights community and draw visitors to explore this vibrant community.

Rules:

1. All entries are due by Friday, June 19 by 5 p.m. Entries must submitted at afisher@druidheights.com.

2. All designs must clearly include the words, ‘Druid Heights Community’.

3. Artists must submit work individually.

4. There is no limit on the number of submissions that an individual can produce. Every submitted design must follow the complete application process and must include one of the following five themes:

a. Druid Heights Neighborhood and Its Culturally-Rich History

b. Druid Heights Community Development Corporation

c. Cab Calloway Legends Square

d. Events and Activities at Cab Calloway Square

e. Cab Calloway ad Other Icons who Have Lived and Worked in Druid Heights

5. Artwork must be original. Your artwork submission must be your own original concept and not a copy of anyone else’s material. If your image infringes upon another’s copyrighted material, it will be disqualified. You may be required to show proof that your entry is your original artwork.

6. Dimensions: The final dimensions of the street light banner is 27” x 96” in a portrait orientation. Please submit the final design in a pdf in a scalable size to 27” x 96.” 7.

7. Selection Criteria and Process: ● Submissions must include a title and a brief paragraph describing the design and how it aligns with one of our themes ● Artwork must be 2D ● Artwork must be an original design from the entrant ● Artwork must be submitted with the signed entry and authorization form on the back of this form ● Artwork must be simple and clear enough for drivers to see from a distance while traveling fast ● Artwork must fit one of the multiple themes and meet the above criteria or else it will not be considered Proposals may either be submitted via email to afisher@druidheights.com. No submissions will be accepted after Monday, June 26 at 5 p.m..

8. The artist must signed the authorization form and scanned it along with his/her artwork as part of their submission. Entry forms without a signed authorization form will not be eligible for the contest. to use artwork must be signed.

9. The artist must also provide his/her address. The artist must reside in Baltimore with those living in West Baltimore getting additional points in the judging. Those entrants that do not provide an address or an address that can’t be verified, will be deemed ineligible.

10. Selections will be made by a committee of Druid Heights residents, West Baltimore residents and other entrants based on artistic merit and completeness of the application.

11. Winners will be announced in July and banner installations will begin in the fall.
