BALTIMORE, MD -- 7/23/08 -- MD SPHINX LAM-- Baltimore City is requesting proposals from developers for the development of six properties at the 2100 block of Pennsylvania Avenue. The location includes the former Sphinx Club, a members-only club opened in 1946, for Baltimore's elite African-American. The club, which closed in 1992, represented a historic piece of the city's African-American heritage and culture.
