Tuesday, August 5th from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. National Night Out is celebrated with a “Movie in the Playground” event. Residents of the community will gather to greet, meet and eat as we celebrate “Unity in our Community”. Mr. Albert Wiggins will provide his home made grill (an old transformed oil tank) to cook for the masses. The food will be donated by the Central District of the Baltimore City Police Department. National Night Out is a celebration of community and police collaboration. This event is sponsored by a MECU grant.

Thursday, August 7th 100 youth and adults from the Druid Heights Educational and Cultural Enrichment Summer Fun Camp program will celebrate 20 years of the camp program at Kings Dominion Amusement Park. The # One goal of our summer camp is to reduce learning loss over the summer months. This trip awards the campers for their attendance and participation in our academic programs.

Friday, August 8th from 2 pm until 5:00 pm The Closing Celebration of the Summer Camp program will take place at St. Peter Claver Hall / 1526 N. Fremont Avenue. The community and the public are invited to attend.

Saturday, August 9th from 10 a.m. until 1:00 pm. Druid Heights Community Development Corporation will present the “3rd Annual Free Give-Away Event. The gifts will be distributed from the rear yard of 1904 McCulloh Street. Residents from the community are invited to come sign out the gifts donated by Home Depot Stores 2504 and 2577, and donations provided by other contributors to the community’s “Neighbors Helping Neighbors” program.

Saturday, August 16th from 11:00 a.m. until 7:00 pm. Druid Hill Avenue residents will gather on the green space on Presstman Street between Druid Hill and Etting Street to cook-out and have fun. This event is sponsored by Druid Heights CDC and MECU.

Thursday, August 21st from 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm, Anthony Pressley will host the Third Thursdays Open Mic Poetry Slam at the John Eager Howard Recreation Center / 2100 Brookfield Avenue. Free food, fun and flow of poetry.
